MOSFET
MOSFET is the abbreviation of Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor. Small signal MOSFET is mainly used for signal amplification and impedance transformation in analog circuits, but can also be used for switching or chopping. Power MOSFET is used as a switch and driver, working in the switching state, with a withstand voltage range from tens of volts to thousands of volts, and an operating current from a few amperes to tens of amperes.
Power MOSFETs are all enhancement mode MOSFETs with excellent switching characteristics. In recent years, power MOSFETs have been widely used in power supplies, computers and peripherals (soft and hard disk drives, printers, scanners, etc.), consumer electronics, communication equipment, automotive electronics and industrial control.
MOSFET can be roughly divided into Trench MOSFET, which is mainly used in the field of medium and low voltage, SGT (Shielded Gate Trench) MOSFET, which is mainly used in the field of high voltage, and Flat MOSFET. It is a semiconductor device based on diffusion process and made of Si material. It can be regarded as the development of TVS towards miniaturization, integration, and low capacitance. It is a low-power device made by IC diffusion process and packaging process, and is specially designed for ESD suppression of multi-channel and high-speed signal line interfaces. Since the rising edge of ESD discharge is about 1ns, the traditional chip voltage-sensitive and polymer devices respond slowly, resulting in high residual voltage, so IC also has a high electrostatic capacitance; and in the voltage field of products such as ESD distribution systems, there are SJ (Superjunction) MOSFET.
